Casa Churra Uruguay

I was staying at the hostel next door and visited here several times for lunch and dinner. Though I know little Spanish and i was by myself and nervous about ordering, the staff were very patient and helpful. They made me feel welcome in Mexico City! It was so nice to sit down and have some delicious tacos after lots of walking.

I have dinner here with my friends. The food was delicious and the drinks too. I had Enchiladas Suiza de pollo, it was 3 pieces of tortillas filled with shredded chicken breast with a creamy white green sauce. My friends had Enchiladas de la Casa con Arrancera ( beef meet) served in a tomato based sauce. I tried it and personally didn't like the meat, it felt very greasy. And my other friend had vegetarian tacos (with stewed onion and peppers and also with nopales (cactus leaves) really delicious. We have also shared some guacamole and tortilla chips as a starter, very good. As drinks we had Agua de Sabor: Jamaica and Tamarindo. Very mexican drinks which you have to try. The service was amazing. The waiter didn't speak English and it was hard to get recommendations for typical food, especially to get a vegetarian dish. However the waitress called the chef from the kitchen who spoke English and had the best recommendation and a special vegetarian dish for my friend. This place is right next to our accomodation, Barrio Downtown Hostel. I have tried the same restaurant chain in a different location and I had a soup "pozole" which was also delicious. Highly recommend this very typical and authentic restaurant. Enjoy!

Alma was fantastic! Very helpful, friendly, and on top of the service. She made us feel very welcome and like we were family.

We love this place. They actually have the best pozole that we’ve had in Mexico City. Locals recommend other places but it turns out they were wrong. This place is so good and the music and atmosphere is great. They serve the food in this fantastic Mexican pottery so cute.

Good food. I actually ate there twice in one day. Long day of walking eft me hungry. Nice staff. Day crew was good. Evening crew was super friendly. Pozole came with all the fixings.

Food is absolutely amazing here! I love the service. The churros are so delicious and it’s a beautiful restaurant. There are 2 floors. A lot of food options and accommodations. This is around the corner from where I’m staying so the walk was nice. There’s a lot of stores to sight see along the way.
